Vision

The vision of the Denpasar Indonesian Institute of the Arts is: “To become a Center of Excellence for Local Wisdom-Based Cultural Arts with a Universal Insight.

Indicator:

  3. Generate creative and adaptive works of art.

Based on Local Wisdom, meaning that ISI Denpasar uses local wisdom (traditional knowledge and traditional cultural expressions) as a basis for learning and knowledge. Local wisdom is full of values ​​and meanings that can lead students to become art graduates with Indonesian characteristics.

Universal insight, meaning that learning and development in the field of science at ISI Denpasar adheres to various paradigms that can be universally accepted by people in various parts of the world. In this regard, ISI Denpasar rejects ethnocentrism but adheres to a perspective of relativity, plurality and identity towards the presence of various forms of works of art.

While the vision and mission of the Visual Communication Design Study Program (DKV) is “To become a center for the creation and study of superior Visual Communication Design based on traditional Balinese culture in shaping the nation’s character in global competition”.

The meaning of the Vision of the Visual Communication Design study program:

  1. Based on traditional Balinese culture: Visual Communication Design Study Program uses local wisdom (traditional Balinese knowledge) as a basis for learning and knowledge. The wisdom of traditional Balinese culture is full of values ​​and meanings that can guide students to become design graduates with Indonesian characteristics. These advantages can be used as a model to inform the public about the various advantages in the visual communication design study program. By keeping in mind, emphasizing the importance of academic, ethical, and moral values ​​that adorn the depth of the material from visual communication design.
  2. Shaping the nation’s character in global competition: meaning that learning and developing the field of knowledge in DKV Study Program will shape the nation’s character that can compete universally in various parts of the world.

Graduate Prospects

The curriculum of the ISI Denpasar Visual Communication Design Study Program is structured as an implementation of the vision and mission of the study program which is reflected in the graduate profile. The profiles of graduates of this curriculum are: Graduates of the Visual Communication Design Study Program are able to initiate, design/design, realize and present Visual Communication Designs that are creative, innovative and competitive based on local wisdom with a universal outlook. Graduates of the Visual Communication Design Study Program have competence in designing visual communication to solve community problems related to the field of Visual Communication Design.

Profile of graduate students of the ISI Denpasar FSRD Visual Communication Design Study Program, according to the vision, mission, goals and objectives of the Study Program, have the role of Assessor, Creator, Presenter, Coach, and Entrepreneur in the field of Visual Communication Design based on local wisdom, with universal insight, according IQF 6.

Assessors and coaches designate analyst competencies, are projected as consultants, can play a role in the type of work as researchers, writers, educators (academicians) and drafters. The creator appoints the competency of the analyst, is projected as a Visual Communication Designer, can play a role in formulating design science with the practice of creating Visual Communication Design, as an illustrator, animator, comic artist, journalist, cartoonist, fontmaker, photographer, copywriter, YouTuber, mural designer, web designer, designer games, animators, and content creators. Presenters and Entrepreneurs designate projected analyst competencies as interpreneurs, visual merchandisers, event organizers (EOs), advertisers, creativepreneurs, and art directors. This scope of competence has a job market, including: advertising companies, mass media, publishing and printing companies, production houses (production houses), distros, and studios on a local, national and international scale.

The graduate profile is attached to graduates of the Visual Communication Design study program with a Bachelor of Design (S.Ds) degree.

In semesters 6 and 7, students are given the freedom to choose the type of MBKM curriculum application that suits their needs and desires, in order to finalize the knowledge they have acquired in college. The number of credits taken based on the off-campus or cross-study MBKM curriculum is 20 credits in semester 6 and 20 credits in semester 7, for a total of 40 credits.

In semester 8, there is only 1 institute course left, namely Final Assignment/Thesis, as a backup if by semester 7 students have not been able to complete their Final Assignment/Thesis. It is expected that the TA process in semester 8 is an allocation of student time, to strengthen and improve the quality of the TA results.
